Monday, December 3, was the Fourth Annual Downtown Holiday Fun Day! Ainsley’s grandmother, Fran, was visiting from Florida, so of course that dictated when our special day would be.
Just to keep the girls on their toes, we decided to start the day a bit differently. First stop: the Gingerbread Village at the Sheraton Hotel.
This will likely be added permanently to the schedule because it was really cool. Seattle’s top architectural firms designed the houses, and the Sheraton’s team of chefs built them. The results were rather spectacular.
Then back to tradition and over to the Barnes and Nobel kids section. Almost immediately Ellie and Ainsley found these awesome stuffed dragons and played with them quietly for a good twenty minutes while Dana and I shopped for Christmas story books and Fran followed after Annika. We finally enticed the girls away from B&N with the promise of hot chocolate from Starbucks and off we went.

After some fortification, we headed over to the carousel.
The older girls weren’t as over the top giddy about the carousel as in past years, but they still had a great time.
