Ellie is now spending some days at school with the preschoolers. By fall she will be completely transitioned over, but for now Mondays, Wednesdays, and random other days she is with the older kids.
Last week, we were told, “bring boots and rain gear tomorrow – they will get muddy.” Turns out they went on a walk to a nature trail near the school that I didn’t even know was there. Linda, who runs the school, just put up some pictures from the adventure, so I thought I should share.
Ellie couldn’t stop talking about the damn they made in the stream. She kept smiling like a beaver (think: white man’s overbite – for those that get the reference), and has built multiple damns in our living room. My blue yoga mat becomes the river, she stacks and piles large blocks across it, then pats them all down with pretend mud. Very thorough.
I’ve been told that Ellie is doing very well with the older kids. We’re so proud of her, and are excited about her progress, but still a little sad that she is growing up so fast.
