As one might expect, I’ve been crazy trying to get stuff done (a book project) before Roo makes his/her appearance, which is why I didn’t realize it’s been more than a week since the last post to RooBlog. My dad reminded me that it would be helpful if I shared the hospital information, so here goes:
We’re going to Swedish Medical Center (click for Google map) in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, 747 Broadway, Seattle. The way Swedish works is this: when we’re pretty sure that labor is well under way, they park us in triage to check things out. When they feel she’s far enough along to be admitted, we’re sent to the delivery room. Then, after the baby is delivered and stable, we’re transferred to a birthing suite. We won’t be having any visitors, obviously, until we get to the last room, at which point we’re there for 24 hours (or longer if there are any complications).
As for the real news you’re looking for, there isn’t much to report on this eve before Kim’s due date (the 26th). Kim is feeling fine, and the nurses at our appointment last week proclaimed mom and baby healthy and well.
